Zero Waste Reviews: Who Gives A Crap Bamboo Toilet Paper

We’re on our second box of Who Gives a Crap bamboo toilet paper. I think it’s one of the easiest switches we’ve made to decrease our environmental impact. While our previous toilet paper worked well, and was slightly cheaper, it was made by one of the worst companies out there. So I went looking for something new, and I found Who Gives a Crap.

Beyond the great name, they make great toilet paper, too. We’ve only tried the bamboo, but they also make TP from recycled paper, as well as tissues and paper towels if those are still a part of your routine. Both types of toilet paper are 3-ply, so its not the thin, scratchy experience that other environmentally friendly toilet paper gave us.

Occasionally one layer of the 3-ply separates from the others, which annoys my husband, but doesn’t bother me. That’s really the only con, in a pool of pros. The company donates 50% of its profits to build toilets and sanitation systems in developing countries, the toilet paper comes wrapped in paper (which currently is designed as a coloring page, which Kai really likes), and the only plastic involve at all are the two pieces of tape keeping the shipping box closed.

I’m not sure what else to say about this, except it was so easy to incorporate into our routine that most people have no idea there is anything special about our toilet paper when they use it. It just quietly does its job, and even more quietly helps save our world. Not a bad deal.
